Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

Meh. The plot was cute enough, but the dialogue and Justin Timberlake were insufferable, and Clint Eastwood has become a caricature. Amy Adams is likeable as always, but miscast.

I thought it was adorable!

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

Cute concept, mediocre execution. And I didn't believe half of the decisions the characters made.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

HBO documentary about Marilyn Monroe featuring famous actors reading excerpts from recently discovered journals and letters by Marilyn herself. It was riveting, and I highly recommend it.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

Freaking ADORABLE. The original trailer did not accurately portray what this movie would be like. Who doesn't love a zom-rom-com?

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

It was pretty enjoyable, but I don't think anyone has ever been as miscast as James Franco was as The Wizard. The movie would have been a lot better without him. Although, I feel that way about a lot of James Franco movies. He's like my new Jude Law.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

I knew it wouldn't be very good, but I love Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, so I tried it out anyway. And it wasn't very good.

Really, really funny. They went all out, and it paid off. The middle dragged a bit, but the end made it all worth it.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

The plot was really thin and the movie plodded along at a snail's pace, but it is all worth it for Michael Douglas. Performance of a lifetime.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

It was okay. Even if you didn't know the twist, I think it's pretty obvious. The movie felt really uneven, and I'm actually surprised it was a Best Picture nominee.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

Not my favorite HBO movie, but pretty decent. Although, I will say that, at times, I found Al Pacino to be really, really annoying.

Love this movie! Showed it to Chris for the first time and he thinks he liked it better than The Jerk. NO WAY.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

It was pretty good. Sometimes it was difficult to suspend disbelief, but I think it's a fun rental.

I know it's basically the female Deliverance, but it's still a really fun ride. Plus, I would watch Katie Aselton read the phone book.

Great documentary about Arnel Pineda being plucked out of obscurity to lead Journey. I actually saw him with Journey a couple years ago and he was phenomenal. The documentary is good, but a couple of times it left me wanting more.

Kyle's Movie Journal [userpic]

Totally dug it! It's a clever little movie and even Val Kilmer was mildly palatable in it. RDJ, much like gum, was perfection.

9 / 10

Really fucking scary. Interesting concept too, but cheap ending.

Questing away! This movie is fucking badass. And so many great lines! "When you're slapped, you'll take it and like it!"

I don't think I've seen this since high school! And Chris needed to watch it for the Best Picture Quest because he'd NEVER seen it.

As good as I remember!

9 / 10

Pretty good, just wish I'd miraculously remained spoiler-free. Would have been way crazier!
